Hawke's Bay schools experience pure magic!

During May this year, nine schools in the Wairoa and Napier area were lucky enough to have Elgregoe, an award-winning New Zealand magician, visit their schools as part of the Social Worker in Schools (SWiS) Preventative Programme, arranged by Birthright Hawke’s Bay Child & Family Care.

Elgregoe’s show teaches key values that educate students about how to treat others, with a strong emphasis on cutting down bullying in New Zealand schools.

Using fast-paced tricks, puppets, ventriloquism, music, song, stories and amazing props (including live parrots!), those important messages are conveyed to the children through a fun show.

"You’ve Got the Power" is a show that aims to promote great attitudes and get kids thinking about achieving and living in a bully-free environment.

Sharon Allan, Birthright Hawke's Bay Child & Family Care Practice Manager commented, “It’s a show that never fails to entertain the children and get a really important message across to our primary and intermediate school children.

"We have been using Elgregoe for about 5 years now and wish to thank the Ministry of Social Development for helping to fund this initiative. It really is magic!”
