Wanganui

Birthright Wanganui was established in 1959 and supports single parent families in a variety of ways.  The focus is always on the whole family and the wellbeing of the children.

Here are some of the services we offer in Wanganui:

• Advocacy and support to parents when dealing with different agencies.
• Home based support, cooking, craft and in-house support.
• Infant and child care education for teenage parents
• Children’s holiday programme in school holidays
• Support children to join outside activities and opportunity to attend a 5 day camp each year
• Provide financial assitance for school uniforms.
• We offer a scholarship for a student going on to tertiary education, and support applications from the Wanganui area through to Birthright New Zealand for their scholarships.
