Vicki Giles: Fieldworker

I have 2 adult daughters & am about to become a grandma.  I have been a Fieldworker at Levin Birthright for 10 years.  As an ex-single parent, the Birthright kaupapa of “Support For single parent families" is personal.  As well as being important to the wellbeing of our communities and nation, it's a fantastic job working with the Birthright whanau and with the Horowhenua community who are so supportive of Birthright.

Lyn Coopers: Fieldworker

Kia ora tatou, I joined Birthright Levin in October 2008. It is a privilege to be invited by our families into their worlds, to walk with them to lead a more independent, happy, healthy lives.  Thank you all for that.

I love the fantastic relationships we have developed with other social service deliverers, particularly in the Horowhenua, but also with the wider communities.

Neil Adams: Facilities Co-ordinator

I've been in the Horowhenua since 1989 with my wife Zan and raised two children, Zac and Lily.  During this time I have worked in a cafe, psychoepedic hospital and the funeral profession. It's great to be part of Birthright and I look forward to contributing and delivering service to Birthright Members in our wider community.

I come from a large family of eight children; I have four brothers and three sisters.  My extended family includes 19 nephews, six nieces, five great nephews and eight great nieces whom I find is very beneficial in making us a close knit family.  Knowing who you really are, where you come from and how you came to be has helped me to nurture and embrace my Maoritanga.
My passion has always been with youth, but since experiencing this wonderful journey, there has to be a balance.  I believe this sense of balance, is by working with the whanau holistically in order to have successful outcomes for the whole whanau.  My aspirations have come true, since working at Birthright Levin as a Fieldworker, in facilitating “personally satisfying lives for one parent families.”
