ACROSS is an Anglican, Catholic and Community Support service providing social work, counselling and foster care services to families. This includes: Communication skills; Parenting plans and individualised parenting strategies; Individual, couple and family counselling; Individual and group work with children; Linking you to other helping services; Supporting grandparents raising grandchildren.

Barnardos Manawatu/Levin Area Office

Among its other programmes, this Barnardos offers Family Start, which is a one-to-one service developed for families under stress. Support workers visit the families in their own homes to help them develop skills in parenting, family relationships, household management, budgeting and how to use community resources.

Best Care are the manawhenua health, disability support and social service arm of Tanenuiarangi Manawatu Incorporated, the mandated iwi authority for Rangitaane O Manawatu. Social Services provided are counselling and social support, and the Whanau Wellbeing Programme, which deals with family violence.

MSS free counselling for children under 17 and their parents and low-cost counselling for adults. MSS also offers free education programmes for children: Walk with Confidence; Change, Loss and Grief; and Skills for Managing Anger. Children's and parents' groups run in parallel and each programme is usually held four times a year.
