Spirit of Adventure Scholarships Here is some feedback from Troy, a 2011 Spirit of Adventure participant:It was great. I went round the Marlborough sound, Pelorous Sound and even travelled through the Cook Strait. It was a lot of hard work but with awesome rewards. I went for a 13 km tramp in the rain...it yielded a magnificent view upon it's completion. I climbed to the very top of the main mast, it was an exhilarating moment. I rowed a boat to Resolution Bay, walked for a bit, then saw an amphitheatre of glow worms. And every morning at 6.30, I jumped into freezing water. I even got the opportunity to sail the ship! I experienced an abundance of new things, learned a lot of useful skills and matured immensely on the ship. I believe that the voyage has furthered me as an individual. Whether I was hauling a sail up or talking with different people, I enjoyed every second of it. It was the best thing I've ever done... |
