Sue McGuire
President
Starting her working life as a bank clerk, early in her career Sue trained as a Relationship Educator and worked in Relationship Services (Marriage Guidance) and has spent the years since facilitating courses for groups of people covering all areas of Human Relationships. With a strong interest in education , Sue was the office manager for her local country school and was the Returning Officer for Board of Trustee Elections. She has also been a member of the Ashburton Continuing Education Advisory Board and was their representative for the Rakaia area. Sue is a member of Zonta International and Immediate Past President of the Zonta Club of Ashburton. Married to a farmer, Sue has three children and two grandchildren. She is now semi-retired from her two farming enterprises, although she still helps with the accounts and staff recruitment. A Life Member and Patron of Birthright Ashburton, Sue has held the office of Treasurer for six years, assists with funding applications and fundraising and is responsible for training our Family Visitors. She has also been co-opted to the Board of Birthright Christchurch, to assist in the process of redevelopment. Sue was nominated for the National Executive of Birthright New Zealand at the 2008 AGM and after serving one year was nominated and accepted for the position of National President for BRNZ at the 2009 AGM. |
